JS(ocial)H&A Social LIF in Action

*Originally posted Tuesday, April 28, 2009

JSH&A might have to change its standing (or our founder’s nickname) to Jonni “Social” Hegenderfer & Associates before long.  With all of the social media brainstorms, innovative upcoming projects and two very cool recent initiatives under our belts, our clients (and agency!) are “socializing” online like never before.

First, there’s the Spray ‘n Wash blog panel.  These women are great!  This panel is comprised of 40 “mommy bloggers” who have opted in to get involved with a new product.  They’ve been instrumental in providing honest product reviews, online giveaways and valuable insight into our campaign (see posts by QueenMommyBlog, MommyGoggles and TheDivineMissMommy to name a few).  Throughout the year they will participate in surveys, act as a focus group and provide their opinions and feedback on the new product.  Since launching the panel Spray ‘n Wash Bright & White’s online share of voice has eclipsed competitors in the bleach alternative space and will continue to gain momentum throughout the year.

And then there are the Hershey moms.  The Hershey Night at the Museum blogger lock-in was a fantastic event, held just this past weekend at The Smithsonian National Air & Space museum in Washington DC.  Featuring a real-life “Abraham Lincoln” (impersonator) and life-size Hershey candy bars, the event hosted 10 bloggers and their (very adorable) children for a night of private tours, airplane competitions, LOTS of chocolate and a sneak-peek at both the new movie trailer and the new Hershey Kisses commercial.  The event kicked off a promotion that will award lucky consumers the chance to have their own sleepover at The Smithsonian.  Bloggers “tweeted” their way through the entire event (literally from the time their cars picked them up until their heads hit the pillows) and are beginning to blog about their experience (see CutieBootyCakes and MomDot posts).

Two different clients, different programs and different groups of amazing women have provided a great opportunity to get to know lots of different bloggers (and make sure my RSS feed is jam packed) and work with new media on behalf of our clients.  Stay tuned for socializing in the JSH&A pipeline …
