Blah, blah, blah, Twitter, etc.

I am sick of hearing / reading about Twitter 24 hours a day.  Take it or leave it (see sidenote below) but do we really need to talk about it all the time?

If you too are sick of hearing about it, this article is for you!  The 100 Things More Popular Than Twitter (BusinessInsider.com) had me laughing out loud this morning.  Some of my favorite “more popular than Twitter” things include:

6.                      Pizza

14.                    Dogs

22.                    AARP The Magazine

28.                    Game Gear

29 & 30:            Tamagotchi & Furby (respectively)

45.                    Ross Perot

48 – 51:            Boy Bands (NKOTB, Backstreet Boys, nSync & 98 Degrees)

52 – 55:            Religion (Christianity, Islam, Mormonism & Judaism)

60.                    HampsterDance.com

86.                    Thriller (by Michael Jackson)

92.                    Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Boston

100.                  Diet Dr. Pepper

However irrelevant and obscure, it’s good to know that things like pizza, the King of Pop and the electronic pets (see: numbers 29 & 30) are still hanging tough against social media giants and emerging trends.

Happy Friday the 13th!

Sidenote:  I am back on the bandwagon and now “tweeting” regularly.  I have so far benefitted from some fun new info., buddies and insight that have come from my having given it a second shot (and hey, my brother is jealous because no one wants to follow a senior in college in South Dakota – soon enough, young one).  You can find me @kelcymarie

P.S. Judging by the last two posts, you’d think the “word of the month” was Michael Jackson!
